Microsoft Corp. has announced that the government will stop support for Office 2003 on 14 April, the same day with the termination of Windows XP. Office 2003, which have experienced the last update in September 2007 not with Service Pack 3 (SP3), mainstream support will be discontinued in less than two weeks, and will enter the extended support.
Microsoft has released Office 2003 in November 2007. Meanwhile, according to Microsoft policy, mainstream support will provide a free repair, to patch security bugs and other for all people. While the support extended, non-security improvements provided only to companies that have support contracts with Microsoft. Date 14 April will also include Microsoft Windows XP to the support extended.
On Saturday (04 / 4) then, Microsoft has been warned that the hackers have targeted 2003 for PowerPoint exploited. Microsoft will also continue to provide security updates for all users of Office 2003 during the extended support phase. Support also includes extended refresh regularly junk-mail in Outlook. Meanwhile, Office 2003 extended support will end on 8 April 2014.
