Symantec has released an Internet security software called Quorum. Quorum duty to check the process or application running, then compare with the database user information in the software, if the executed application is known applications, such as Microsoft Word.
If no match, then the Quorum Symantec software will check how many people who use the application before transferred into a virus detection. Users will be warned if Symantec could not find the authentication application.
Quorum Symantec technology is also aimed at identifying risk factors such as whether to have a signature on the software program, from which site file is downloaded, whether the program is still new so not many people know. Software Quorum has attributes, such as digital signatures, and the limit ‘age’ software, source, and a special algorithm to consider the ‘reputation’ files that are executed.
Symantec announced Quorum software in the event Meatpacking District Black Market in New York, after launching the newest software Norton Internet Security 2010 since 9 September. Symantec also makes Norton Online Risk Calculator, a tool online to measure how much risk when users browse the web, and predict what can be done cybercriminal in online identity user.
