
According to Sophos, a spyware has been disguised as a plug-in Flash player for Firefox. A Flash Player installation screen that looks legitimate will appear in the list of Firefox extensions as the Adobe Flash Player 0.2. If the user does not install this plugin, the user can not watch the video. However, evidently this Adobe Flash Player 0.2 file will spy on the Google search user and sent the data to ‘remote server’, also put the advertisement into the page web that was visited user.
Sophos says that spyware is also spread to various Internet forums, so that the user must be careful when downloading from untrusted sources.
