Ever write a message and then have to correct the error by more than 3 times after pressing the button “Send”? Or write a tweet on Twitter to duplicate the same place?
According to Drs. Tracy Alloway, a psychologist from the University of Stirling in Scotland, could explain the cause. As reported by the Telegraph, Alloway has spent his time to observe the performance of the human brain memory, where people can obtain and use information.
Alloway also believe in the existence of human intelligence measure called IQ. The psychologist also stated that the increase in human memory or IQ can be increased or decreased in line with social media behavior, which can be conducive to support or even reducing the human intelligence.
Facebook, he said, appeared to increase memory performance, because the brain must work to maintain the connection of hundreds of friends, while Twitter just do the opposite. In his study, Alloway said that Twitter is too practical, so the brain will receive less attention and the mind are not closely related to the user for connection improvisation friends on Twitter. Alloway also mentions other sites, like YouTube and games.
Video games and Sudoku can add a deeper thought, more quickly recall the past, and can be mapped more clearly in mind what to do next. Therefore, video games can improve Alloway assessed memory performance of brain.
