Two major companies have simultaneously filed with the court on Facebook which claims that the website Facebook has violated their patent rights, including personal pages and build human relationships. Tele-Publishing Company Inc. in Boston, is a personal service provider vendor to the newspaper since 1980, and has accused Facebook violates patent ’provision of personal pages’. While the company Mekiki Co. Ltd from Japan accuses Facebook of breaching patent rights for the 3 ’register system of human relationships’.
Tele-Publishing Inc. have been awarded his own patent in 2001 for "Method and Apparatus for Providing a Personal Page". Patent is actually seemed abstract and can be used by social networking site or any site that allows creation of a profile page. However, perhaps intended by the company are related to Facebook’s privacy controls can be selectively determine who can meilihat the Facebook user profile, such as contact information, wall posts, photos, and so on. Tele-Publishing is also using technology that allows users to online dating and personal sites to limit access to personal information.
While Mekiki been awarded a patent for "Human relationships registering system, method and device for registering human relationships, the program for registering human relationships, and medium storing program registering human relationships and readable by computer" in 2005. Mekiki site’s goal is to combine a lot of people use the real username and password to work together to handle global issues, including environmental pollution and ethnic conflict. However, the reason is unknown demands Mekiki Facebook.
