With the growing social networking sites, including Facebook, then no doubt if the malware also increased, Facebook itself can also threatened the security risk that allows someone to hijack a user’s account while interacting with other websites, according to security analysts, Monday (18/01 ).
A safety observer Nitesh Dhanjani says that Facebook has a weakness in the design that allows third-party applications to access user profile data without the consent of the user.
Usually Facebook will use display pop-up window to remind users when they add a third-party applications that will give authorization to the application to access user profile information. This may give consideration to the user before they add the application on Facebook.
In a separate occasion, but still related to the study, Dhanjani and security analysts from Israel Shlomi Narkolayev said that intruders can use clickjacking attack to hack Facebook account to trick the user to click on a site that has a hidden malicious code. A website that looks like an e-commerce site or a video display that hides Facebook login page so that when the user clicks to play the video, it will open a user account after such action, without user knowledge.
While part of the Facebook, Simon Axten explained that Facebook has built protections for these types of attacks, and has warned users of messages, posts, or links found on Facebook or anywhere that seems odd.
